How to make gif avatars

An easy guide on how to make gif avatars for the forums

Recommendations:

Resolution:

Width: 127px; Height: 127px

File size:

<50kb

Any short gif that is on a loop.

There are a few places to find some good gifs but here are some I have found:

1. R/PerfectLoops
2. Giphy#1
3. Giphy#2

What to do if the gif is >50kb:

Compress the gif I.E

Make it shorter and/or quicker.

Delete duplicate frames from the gif.

Make the resolution smaller.

You can do this on a couple of websites however I would recommend these sites:

1. EZ gif (This is the best one to use)
2. Gif compressor
3. Picasion

Uploading to the forums:

1. Go to your profile.
2. Click "This" icon.
3. Make sure "Import from URL" is selected.
4. Paste image URL into box.

To upload an image from URL you will need to upload the image to a website that keeps URL permanently

The only issue is trying to get it small enough to upload. I've done it for myself, @Logan and @DC

i used ezgif to make it 172x172 and only 31.5kb big

then I uploaded it to imgur and copied the URL

but it says this (yes I used the right URL)
